This bird belongs to One Loft Manager, Jonathan Swift, and took part in the full flying programme alongside the One Loft Birds.
This beautiful young bird is really bred for the job – it wasn’t entered in the one loft, but completed the entire programme, flew the final with the main NRCC convoy libbed 20 minutes before the one loft birds, and returned in good time on the day. Its sire is a red cock purchased from the Pride of the Potteries OLR, and was bred by Slim Timmis, a OLR specialist. Its dam is a red hen, who was the Romanian OLR ace pigeon in 2019. A true OLR pigeon and clearly switched on, having had 11 flights over 70 miles this year up to 226 miles, and not faltering once.
